Experience Postgrad Life Sciences

Enhancing diversity among life scientists of the future

Laboratory work

The Postgraduate School of Life Sciences, together with the sponsors of this scheme, are committed to widening participation in postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge and will be using positive action under the Equality Act 2010, where appropriate, to tackle the underrepresentation of certain groups. See our eligibility criteria for more details.

Experience Postgrad Life Sciences offers paid 8-week research internships to UK and Republic of Ireland residents who are studying at a UK or Republic of Ireland university for their undergraduate bachelor degree and are in their penultimate year of study, with priority given to those from underrepresented and disadvantaged groups.

The programme in 2023 will run from Monday 10th July until Friday 1st September.

Interns will be invited to take part in additional events including training on how to apply for postgraduate courses and scientific lectures and seminars.

A variety of social activities will be provided during the programme.

COVID-19

Whilst the programme is designed as a residential event, should Covid-19 government guidelines prevent this, we reserve the right to amend the programme to a blended or online programme instead. Details concerning how this will affect the programme will be added to this website, if this becomes necessary.

The Experience Postgrad Life Sciences Programme is run in partnership with Corpus Christi College
